FJP136: Limited Exposure, Means Limited Opportunities

When I was a kid, I remember being excited about certain opportunities. In this episode I tell a story about how I debated forgoing college to pursue one of these opportunities. I talk about why it’s important to expose yourself to new people, and new situations, because opportunities that seem good, only seem good relative to what we can compare them to. If we have limited experience and exposure, we’re going to have limited opportunities. Opportunities that seem good today, may not seem good at all in the near future once you’ve exposed yourself to more. More exposure will lead to new ways of thinking, and new opportunities, that may be much better than the ones in front of you right now.

FJP132: Getting Farther, Does Not Always Get You Closer To Your Goal

Are you working hard, but feel like you’re getting no where? Well, this is common, and it often means you’re on the wrong path. The farther you go down the wrong path, the further you’ll delay getting back on the right one. You can’t reach your goals if you’re going down the wrong road. In this episode I explain why this concept is important to understand, and why you shouldn’t necessarily try to jump into the first opportunity you come across like many people advise, as it’ll often delay your progress more than help you.
